Baskin-Robbins Oreo Milkshake Recipe & Nutrition Guide

When I was a kid I begged my parents to take me to the Baskin-Robbins in our mall. Oreo was always my favorite topping, so their Oreo milkshake was my go-to. This version uses just three ingredients and takes about five minutes—one of the simplest milkshakes you can make at home.

🍨 About This Recipe

I lived near a Baskin-Robbins for a while and know their menu well. Their Oreo milkshake was always my favorite. Making milkshakes at home is fast and forgiving: most recipes use milk, vanilla ice cream, and a single flavor component—here, Oreo cookies.

🍪 Crumbs vs. Cookies

You can add Oreos to a milkshake either whole (or roughly broken) or as crumbs. I prefer using whole cookies because they include the sweet cream filling, so you don’t need extra sugar. If you use plain cookie crumbs, consider adding a little simple syrup or honey to sweeten the shake to your taste.

🥛 Ingredients

Three basic ingredients: vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, and milk. For a fast-food style result, many places use a product labeled “frozen dessert” (a lower-cost alternative often made with vegetable oil). It’s not traditional cream-based ice cream, but when blended with milk and cookies it gives a similar texture and flavor.

If you prefer full-dairy ice cream, that works too—just expect a slightly richer, creamier shake.

🔪 Instructions

Chill your blender cup and serving glass in the freezer or refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. Cold equipment helps keep the shake thick longer.

STEP 1: Add the vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies, and milk to a blender. Blend for 15–30 seconds until smooth and creamy. If the blender stalls, use the tamper (if available) to push ingredients down rather than adding more milk, which will thin the shake. Stop when the texture is thick but pourable.

Pour into a tall glass and serve. Optional: top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for the classic diner presentation.
