Coming up with lunch ideas can be one of the biggest back-to-school challenges. Kids often want the same things repeatedly, but with little ones starting preschool, a playful sandwich can make lunchtime more exciting. This fairy sandwich is simple to assemble and looks delightful in a lunchbox.

How to Make a Fairy Sandwich

This fairy sandwich is as sweet as it looks and very quick to make. I used a small heart-shaped cookie cutter and filled the sandwich with peanut butter and jelly, but you can switch the filling to Nutella, cream cheese, or any spread your child prefers. Any small cookie cutter shape works—stars, circles, or flowers all look great.

3. Place the slice with the cut-out shape on top of the filled slice. Gently fill the cut-out area with a thin layer of sprinkles so they sit in the hollowed shape.
