Transforming Thanksgiving leftovers into a flavorful club sandwich is quick, simple, and satisfying. With leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, a few greens, and a creamy, smoky spread, you can assemble a hearty sandwich in minutes. This version swaps the usual mayo-only dressing for a smoky, cheesy dressing that lifts the entire sandwich.
I recently discovered a smoky cheddar-and-bacon flavored dip mix that works beautifully as a sandwich spread. I stirred the mix into mayonnaise and sour cream to create a creamy, savory dressing, then spread it on toasted bread. The smoky cheddar and bacon notes pair perfectly with turkey and mashed potatoes. The small bacon bits add crunch and flavor without needing to fry real bacon, saving time while delivering that classic smoky taste.

This turkey club-style sandwich makes an ideal lunch. It comes together fast, holds its shape well, and tastes great whether served warm or cold. For extra texture and flavor, toast the bread with a few drops of olive oil before assembling. The toast adds a pleasant crunch and helps prevent sogginess when the sandwich is wrapped or stored.
For packing and storing, I like to wrap the finished sandwich tightly in plastic wrap. A good-quality wrap seals in moisture and keeps the sandwich together without sticking excessively to the bread, so it’s easy to unwrap when it’s time to eat. The creamy smoky spread provides enough moisture for flavor but won’t make the bread soggy if the sandwich is wrapped promptly.
Next time you’re planning holiday leftovers, consider picking up a smoky cheddar-and-bacon seasoning or dip mix and some plastic wrap to make quick packed lunches. With minimal effort you can turn leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, and greens into an elevated sandwich that the whole family will enjoy.
This post contains my personal impressions of products used while making this sandwich.
