This is my skin — no editing, no filters, no makeup. I’m proud of it. If you read part 1 of my journey with hormonal imbalances and severe hormonal acne (original post shared on my Instagram), you’ll know that a year ago I would never have imagined posting a photo like this. Back then I felt completely uncomfortable in my own skin and would often cry when I looked in the mirror at how different I looked.
After discovering what helped my hormones stabilize, I developed a skincare routine that I genuinely love and trust. My interest in women’s health has always included nutrition, but when my hormones became unbalanced I dove deeply into every relevant factor — the skincare and household products we use, our diets, supplements and medications, and how our cycles affect skin. I want to share what I’ve learned to help others who might be facing similar struggles. I was overwhelmed by the number of people who reached out saying they related to my story, and I truly feel that my own experience positioned me to find solutions that could help others.
Now for the details: a requested round-up of my favorite skincare products. This post is unsponsored and reflects products I’ve personally used. I know some items are pricey; when I transitioned to a cleaner skincare routine I did it slowly, replacing one product at a time. That approach helped me identify what worked and what didn’t without spending too much at once. Remember that what works for me may not work for you — genetics, skin type, environment, and lifestyle all matter. Finding the right routine can take time, and I’m happy to answer questions if you have them.
Below are the products for my nighttime routine:

Nourish Organic Face Wash: You don’t need an expensive face wash — it’s on your skin for seconds. Choose a gentle formula that removes makeup and impurities without overdrying. This one cleans well and has good ingredients without costing a fortune.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Serum: This serum is pricier, but a little goes a long way. I apply it first after cleansing — it gives my skin a noticeable glow and has a pleasant scent. It lasts me a long time, so I find it worth the investment.

One Love Organics Eye Balm: I like the ingredient list and how long it lasts; a tiny amount goes a long way. Be careful not to apply it too close to the eye itself — it can irritate if it gets into the eye or is rubbed onto the eyelid.

H is for Love BARA Balm: Another higher-end option that I’ve used for months. It’s rich in natural oils and feels like a concentrated, multitasking product. If you prefer a lower-cost start, try a few simpler oils first to see how your skin responds before investing in a luxury balm.

Botanical E Serum (Vitamin E): Vitamin E is excellent for dry or irritated skin. I like this serum’s texture and only use a small amount. I typically reserve it for extra-dry nights; otherwise I use it during the day. If this feels too expensive, an affordable oil (below) can be a good alternative.

Acure Blue Tansy Oil: A budget-friendly, well-formulated oil that’s a great place to start if you’re new to face oils. It offers good moisturizing benefits without the higher price tag of some luxury oils.

Ursa Major Recovery Cream or Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer: Both of these moisturizers are excellent finishing steps after letting oils absorb. They contain quality ingredients, feel nourishing, and a small amount provides lasting hydration. I use one of these as my final step in the nighttime routine.
I hope this routine and product list are helpful. These are products I’ve chosen and paid for myself — I’m not sponsored. I’ll keep experimenting and sharing what works as my skin and needs evolve. If you try any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you have about my experience.
