A refreshingly sweet, thirst-quenching Watermelon Spritzer Smoothie is perfect for the hottest days. Ready to cool off? Make one today!

This Watermelon Spritzer Smoothie is light, sweet and incredibly hydrating—a great way to beat the heat.
Yesterday felt like the peak of summer heat—so hot it was nearly unbearable. My son even calls it “chunky hot” because the humidity feels thick and heavy. His description always makes me laugh, and lately I’ve been hearing it a lot.

Thankfully, these smoothies came to the rescue. We had leftover watermelon and a few limes, so we blended up a batch of Watermelon Spritzer Smoothies to sip into the evening. When I carried them outside to photograph, they were icy and thick; within minutes the ice softened and they took on more of a fizzy spritzer texture. Either way, they were delicious.
We added a bit more ice after the photos—because why not?
We’ve been a little obsessed with smoothies this summer. With temperatures this high, who wouldn’t be?

They were so refreshing that we’ll definitely make them again—probably this afternoon if the heat keeps up. I’ll be staying indoors with one of these sweet summery smoothies in hand.

Tip: If you prefer, swap the ginger ale for Sprite or sparkling water for a lighter, less sweet spritzer.
I’m definitely on a watermelon kick—can you tell?
